Tyler Walker made his third appearance for Lincoln City following his season-long loan move from Nottingham Forest and got on the scoresheet in a 4-0 win over Southend United – converting a penalty he won in the 48th minute. Walker has made four appearances in all competitions for City, contributing two goals, and has averaged a goal or assist in League One every 110 minutes.

The 22-year-old was hoping to be in the Forest first-team after scoring and creating 30 goals in 52 games during last season’s loan spell at Mansfield Town, but Sabri Lamouchi loaned him out and brought in Sammy Ameobi & Rafa Mir as replacements. Walker now has to prove himself in the Football League again and will hope he’ll get a reprieve in 2020 if he impresses.

He’s made 38 appearances in all competitions for Forest, scoring and creating eight goals, but Walker’s last outing for the Reds came against Arsenal in the FA Cup on January 7, 2018. Whether he has a future at the City Ground remains to be seen after being ignored for 18 months, let alone the competition for a starting place.

Nevertheless, after getting off the mark at Lincoln, he now has an opportunity to send a message to Lamouchi and Forest scouts monitoring his progress.
