Report: Striker will join Nottingham Forest first-team next season

|

According to Paul Taylor of Nottinghamshire Live, Tyler Walker will return to the Nottingham Forest first-team next season after impressing out on loan at Mansfield Town. The 22-year-old has scored 22 goals in 44 League Two games since making the switch to Field Mill last summer, and Walker’s form for the Stags convinced Martin O’Neill to consider including him in 2019/20.

The England u20 international has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Forest, scoring and creating eight goals. Walker made his debut for Forest against Rotherham on March 18, 2015 and his last outing for the Reds came against Arsenal in the FA Cup on January 7, 2018. He fell down the pecking order at the City Ground but could now be an important player next season.

Walker has contributed 32% of Mansfield’s 69 goals in League Two and could be leading them to promotion. Town currently sit third in the table with 76 points from 45 games and will seal their place in League One next season if they match MK Dons’ result on Saturday, May 4. Automatic promotion would be great way to end his loan spell at Mansfield.
