Nottingham Forest are about to enter a very important stretch of games in their season.

As I spoke about before the Swansea City game, as it was pointed out to me by @SilkyNI, all the teams that Forest have played so far this season sat above them in the table. And for Forest to be in the position they are in and on a very good unbeaten run shows that there is a lot of quality in this side with a lot of potential.

Now Lamouchi’s men are presented with a real opportunity to get a real run of form together as the season starts getting into full swing (before we get yet another international break). They face Barnsley at home, Stoke away, Blackburn away and Brentford away before the next break. The highest placed side out of those teams is Blackburn who currently sit 12th in the table, so even though the Championship is notoriously tough and unpredictable, Forest should certainly be confident going into each of the games that they can pick up the three points.

I said during the summer that I thought Nottingham Forest had a decent chance of doing something special this season and if we’re able to pick up maximum points or at the very least remain undefeated in this next batch of games then I feel that we will be in a good position to keep amongst the promotion contenders for the rest of the season.

They’ve shown that they can play up to the teams above them in the table, now it is time for them to keep their feet on the pedal and make sure that they don’t play down to teams below them, and keep the momentum building. A few lost points here could end up costing us at the end of the season.

What about you? Do you think that this set of games can act as a catapult for Forest to climb up the table? Or do you think that it’s still too early in the season for these opponents to be counted as ‘weaker’ and that the Reds are in for a stern test in the coming weeks?
