Nottingham Forest man posts update on injury situation, rehabilitation still ongoing

Juan Rafael Fuentes has spent the season recovering from a knee injury and has been working hard in the gym to improve his condition. In January, videos showed the Nottingham Forest defender with a ball at his feet and being able to jog lightly, but it looks unlikely he will feature for City again before the campaign comes to a close.

Fuentes, who made only one appearance before his injury, was only retained for another 12 months as a result of his injury last season. He signed a short-term deal in February 2018 and now finds himself behind the likes of Jack Robinson and Ben Osborn at left-back.

Despite spending so much time on the treatment table, the uncapped Spaniard still updates supporters on his progress. He recently posted picture on his Instagram account featuring a picture of gym equipment with the caption: “Martes (Tuesday)”.

If Fuentes was able to kick a ball around and was jogging in January, he’ll be able to step up his rehabilitation to be fully fit and available this summer. He’s played very little football in the last 18 months, having been a free agent after leaving CA Osasuna in July 2017, so Fuentes will be more than rusty.
