Forest travel to Kenilworth Road on Saturday for the first time since 1993. They won 2-1 that day, with goals from Kingsley Black and Ian Woan. The same result this weekend will do nicely, ta very much.

The Hatters form since being relegated from the Championship has been inconsistent. They have only won once away, but their home form is pretty good and sees them occupying 15th spot in the League with 14 points.

Manager Kevin Blackwell is working under tight financial constraints and will look to get a keeper in on loan before the weekend, after Ben Alnwick was recalled to Spurs earlier this week. He has numerous long term injured to contend with as well, which doesn’t make his job any easier.

Forest have yet to lose on their travels, but this will be a tough test. Unbeaten in 7 and sitting pretty in 4th, the Reds could go top if results elsewhere go in our favour, but that’s a long way off. Forest will be confident and will be backed by the usual good away following, having sold out our allocation.

Vital Quotes:

Luton Town Team News:

Kevin Blackwell is beset with injury problems and makes our own long list look in good order. Out are long term injured Talbot, Parkin and Pesch. Also out will be Keith Keane and Paul Underwood.

Player to watch: Paul Furlong

The veteran striker may well be 39 years old, but he can still find the net. So far this term he’s hit 5 in 11 starts.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest have a new injury worry in the shape of James Perch. He damaged knee ligaments in a freak training ground accident, after getting tangled in the nets. Morgan is a major doubt as is Nathan Tyson. Junior Agogo has a slight calf strain, but should be fit for the game.

Player to watch: Chris Cohen

If he plays well, Forest play well. The midfield playmaker is due and deserves a goal.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have a long history that dates back to 1938. The Reds won 1-0 back then. You have to cast your mind back to 1993 for the last time we went to Kenilworth Road. We won that day as well 2-1, with Kingsley Black and Ian Woan bagging the goals for us.

In 54 League meetings Forest have won 21, lost 19 and drawn 14.

Match Prediction:

I think this will be a tight one, but forever the optimist, I’ll go for a ……2-1 win to the good guys.
