Some Nottingham Forest supporters criticised Danny Fox after his performance against Reading. The Reds defender was sent off in the 63rd minute for two yellow-card offences and didn’t fare too well when he was on the pitch either. Fox made just one tackle, didn’t make an interception and failed to make a clearance. He attempted just 22 passes and completed only 62% of them.
Fox and Darikwa proving they've been deceiving us this season. Clowns. No excuses. #nffc

Shambolic & disgraceful.. Fox & Darikwa should reimburse every Forest supporter who attended today’s game their ticket money. Both totally unnecessary sending offs! #nffc https://t.co/uDmQRFPZWS

The 32-year-old has struggled for consistency since making his return from injury, having been previously sidelined for two months with ligament damage in his foot. Fox has since made four league appearances after a successful recovery but he’s yet to find his feet again.
The Scotland international was a regular at the back prior to picking up the injury in October, but he may find his place up for grabs unless he can turn things around. Fox has been skippering the side when in the starting lineup, but his days at the City Ground look numbered based on recent performances. His contract is up next summer too.
Fans have made their feelings clear about the versatile left-back on social media and caretaker manager Simon Ireland might be considering a shakeup in defence as Forest continue to slump.
