It was all change at the top of the table, with Swansea reclaiming pole position with a 4-1 win at home to basement boys Cheltenham. The Swans had the job done by half time and with it top spot, forcing the Mighty Reds into second after our 0-0 with the Latics. We now lie two points behind Swansea and they have a game in hand.

Lucky Leeds United lived up to their billing, as they got another lucky point. This time the Monkeyhangers were the victims as Jermaine Beckford ruined Christmas with a last minute equaliser to deny Pools the deserved points. Even Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson said Lucky Leeds were indeed lucky. Lucky Leeds United sit in third.

Carlisle had a bad day at the office, losing 2-0 away at Tranmere. Both goals came in the first half from McLaren and Kay. Orient continue to slide, as they went down 3-1 to struggling Bournemouth. Saturday’s opponents Gillingham earned a priceless point at home to falling Sarfend in a 1-1 draw. It was a last gasp equaliser from Miller that salvaged a point for the Gills. Down at the bottom Millwall gave Brighton a 3-0 thumping and Bristol fought out a 1-1 draw at home with Luton. Port Vale stay bottom despite a draw with Walsall.
