League 1 Round Up

After the weekend fixtures Forest slip to 20th place in the League without having kicked a ball in anger, level on points with Oldham and Gillingham.

Leeds still prop up the table, but have made short work of their 15 point deduction with a 2-0 win over Hartlepool to make it 5 straight wins and maintain their 100% record, after goals from Kandol and Beckford gave them the points. They now have nil points.

Orient continued their fantastic start to the season with a 1-0 home win against Bournemouth, that sees them topping the table. Manager Ling must be pinching himself after last seasons’ close shave with relegation, to find himself and Orient on top of the pile.

The big game of the day was at Carlisle, who entertained Tranmere in a second against third clash. Tranmere ran out 1-0 winners with a Curran goal just before half time. Bristol Rovers continued their good start with a 2-1 victory away at fancied Luton and Brighton hammered Millwall 3-0 at home on Friday.

The other team at the bottom Walsall, could only manage a goalless draw at home to Port Vale. Forest face Vale away next Saturday, in a game that will hopefully bring the first victory of the season for the Reds.
