Lamouchi at risk of costing Forest if he doesn’t get his mentality right – Report

|

Why did he have to go and spoil such a great run like that?

Speaking in his press conference yesterday, Sabri Lamouchi spoke about the fact that Forest are near the top of the table and how he’s more focused on the performance that the players put in:

“It is really important to us to keep this momentum going but we must remember after tomorrow we will still only have played nine league games. If we go top of the table then that’s because we deserve it but there is still so much football to be played over the rest of the season. It is not important for me to be top of the table tomorrow night, it is more important that we go to Stoke and put in a strong performance and get a good result.

I like Sabri Lamouchi, I think he’s been a breath of fresh air, and as I pointed out when he was appointed, he clearly was a winning mentality as a result of the success he had in his playing days. However, I feel that he could do with being a little bit more aggressive and pushing the boat out a little when it comes to his approach.

We saw last year the lengths that a guy like Marcelo Bielsa was willing to put in to try and get Leeds promoted, and whilst I’m not suggesting that we do anything around that level, I do think that Lamouchi needs to be a bit more ruthless when it comes to matches.

It’s the point that I’ve been making for a few days now. When we play sides that are down the bottom and struggling for form, it’s not good enough just to win, we need to be winning convincingly. So whilst Lamouchi appears to be happy with a 1-0 victory and a good performance, I think we need to make sure we score at least three goals against this Stoke City side tonight.

What about you? Do you think that Forest and Lamouchi need to be a little bit more aggressive with how he approaches games? Or would you simply be happy with us grinding out results from here until the end of the season?
