Forest have a weekend off from football this week, courtesy of the fact that we’re out of every cup competition going. Despite that, there was some action in League 1 and it does affect the Reds.

We drop to 3rd in the table after Carlisle beat Port Vale 3-2 at Brunton Park to go 2nd in the table, a point ahead of us. The Cumbrians were 2-0 down at the break and all was set for an upset. But a second half comeback, with goals from Joyce and two from Hackney meant that Vale stay rooted to the bottom of the table.

Lucky Leeds put any thoughts of a wobble behind them with a 3-0 win at home to the Cobblers. Goals from Richardson, Rui Marques and Curtis Weston gave them the points and 4th place in the table, a point behind the Reds.

The top of the table is getting very tight now with Swansea still top on 44 points. There’s only 7 points separating the top 6 sides in the division, but the Swans do have a 2 point gap over Carlisle.

On Tuesday our next opponents Orient face Tranmere at home and a win for the O’s will put them back in a playoff place. It’s vital we get a result next weekend, just to stay in touch.
