Talk about having an unwanted record.

If you take a look at the current home v away tables, the story is clear to see, Forest currently own the 18th best record at home this season, whilst also possessing the 3rd best record away from home, and that’s something that Sabri Lamouchi knows needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.

Speaking ahead of the game with Blackburn Rovers, the Frenchman spoke about how trying to work out why there is such an imbalance when it comes to performances away from the City Ground is going to be one of his priorities heading into the new year:

“This year, we have made some records away from home with a lot of wins, but at home it is the opposite. We need to understand this and to find out why, maybe it is the profile of the players and maybe the transfer window can help us. The club is working towards this, but until now the players are working hard, they are fantastic and it is a pleasure to work with them.”

Whilst it’s clear that results do need to pick up at the City Ground, is it just me that isn’t really concerned with how and when the points are picked up, just so long as they are picked up? At the end of the day, if Nottingham Forest get promoted, something I still maintain that they have the chance to do, will anybody really matter if the majority of the points came away from home?

I suppose the best way you could classify it, is ‘by hook or by crook’.

Given the gap to the top two teams in the division, it’s probably safe to say that the chance of automatic promotion is gone, barring a huge disaster from one of the teams involved, so the focus needs to be getting into the playoffs.

Does Forest's home form concern you?

Yes

No

No

And if that means we sacrifice a good home record in exchange for an excellent away record to get us over the line, then so be it. So long as the goal is achieved at the end of the season.
