Injury Situation At Forest Is Beyond A Joke

Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett is this weeks winner of 6 week stay in the luxurious surroundings of the City Ground treatment room.

Jules can look forward to some serious pampering during his stay, from scantily clad ladies and Swedish masseurs. At his beck and call, he will have 24 hour access to full body washes and waxing, massages with exotic oils, foot massaging and of course, use of the solarium. He can even get his ego massaged and all for free. Surely to God this can be the only explanation for the farcical list of injuries that have occured this season.

With the exception of goalkeeper Paul Smith, everyone of the Forest first team playing staff has had treatment of one form or another this term. It could be bad luck, but the club should take a long hard look at their training regime. There has to be something more than a bad spate of injuries for us to have suffered the way we have.

Bennett went off in last night’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich with a suspected fractured collar bone and could be out for up to 8 weeks. If that wasn’t bad enough, it means the club may be extending the loan deal on the hapless Joel Lynch. He looks set to be his replacement in the short term, but he hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory so far, in his short time at the club.

Reserve defender Joe Heath is an option, but one the club looks unlikely to take. He can’t be any worse than Lynch, who had a mare of a game last night on his City Ground debut.
