Forest face an anxious wait regarding the fitness of striker Grant Holt, as he went off injured in yesterday’s reserve game with Leicester. He was taken off mid way through the second half in the game at the City Ground. It cast a shadow over what was otherwise a great day for the reserves following their 4-0 win.

Holt has just regained full fitness after groin surgery and is already said to be a doubt for the weekend game against Port Vale at the City Ground.

It’s thought Holt will be one of the favourites to exit the CG in January, with the Reds being linked with a host of players. He turned down a move to Bristol City this time last year and is thought to be attracting the interest of Carlisle this season.

He was the clubs top scorer last season, but has come under fire recently from supporters who took a dim view of comments made by him on Sky TV, where he talked about ‘players putting themselves in the shop window’ before the FA Cup game with Luton.

Should he stay, or should he go? Have your say on the forum today.
