They say never go back, well that should certainly be the case in this instance.

Nottingham Forest could be tempted to go back in for one of their former targets, as the future surrounding Hull’s Kamil Grosicki continues to grow uncertain.

Speaking to Polish media outlet Sportowefakty, he said:

“After returning from the international break, I will want to meet the president of the club and talk about my future. Some decisions have to be made. Either the contract will be extended or not. I would like to know where I stand to think about the future.”

So it looks as if there could be a chance Forest pick him up at some point in the future if contract talks at the KCom Stadium don’t go well for him.

Grosicki was reportedly a target for Forest back in the summer however a move never came to pass, although possibly because the Pole was a target during Martin O’Neill’s tenure and Sabri Lamouchi was likely to have had targets elsewhere.

I said in the summer when he was initially linked with us that I didn’t think this would be a good move for us to make, and nothing has changed my mind that would suggest he would be of any benefit to us now. His record to start the season hasn’t been great whilst Forest are currently unbeaten in seven games in all competitions, so there’s no need to fix what isn’t broke.

Whilst he may provide a useful backup option if someone like Albert Adomah or Joe Lolley ever gets injured, I said at the time that it was simply too much to spend on someone who would be a bench player and I stand by that decision.

Do you think Forest should go back in for him? Or do you think that it’s best we leave him alone and work with what we have got?
