Joe Garner’s 3 year stay at the City Ground has come to an end today, as he makes a deadline day move to Championship rivals Watford.

According to the official sources at both clubs, Garner has signed a 2 year deal with the Hornets, for an undisclosed fee (thought to be around 500k).

Garner joined the Reds’ back in 2008 from Carlisle, for a £1.14m fee and made a total of 55 appearances for the club (20 as sub), scoring 10 goals.

Last season he had loan spells at Huddersfield and Scunthorpe, but failed to resurrect his career at the City Ground. He was a popular figure amongst the fans due to his tenacious attitude and ability to fight for the cause. Good luck in the future Joe Garner.
