Good news for both Sam Hutchinson and Nottingham Forest today, in that his knee injury is not as bad as feared and he will be staying at Forest until his loan deal expires at the end of the current campaign.

Sam Hutchinson joined the Reds’ on a season long loan deal from Chelsea, but has only made 5 appearances in his time at the club. Despite his all too brief displays in the Garibaldi, his quality and natural ability have shone through. He also scored a magnificent match winning goal in the 2-1 home win over Charlton.

Hutchinson hasn’t played since injuring his knee in the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace back in September and it was feared that it was a recurrence of the injury that almost ended his career at Stamford Bridge.

The news from the Nottingham Forest official site today suggests those fears are unfounded and according to Chief Scout Keith Burt. ‘We are pleased with Sam’s rehabilitation and believe his return to full fitness will be a matter of weeks rather than months. Sam has already shown our supporters that he is a player of enormous talent and we believe we can offer him the perfect stage to fulfill his vast potential. Our owner Fawaz Al Hasawi is committed to providing the best medical care to all of our players.’
