Fox Never Wanted To Come To The City Ground

Some you win and some you lose and in the case of Daniel Fox becoming Billy Davies’ 10th signing of the summer, we lost. That’s only my opinion, as I really rated the guy, but apparently the Reds’ boss is none too concerned at losing out on one of his targets.

The reason for Davies being so laid back about the whole affair, is he sees midfielder Chris Cohen, as the ideal man to fill the left back spot at the club. Cohen played in that position during the friendly game with Sporting Lisbon earlier this month and managed to impress.

Whether Cohen makes the number 3 shirt his own remains to be seen, but one thing we do know, is that Daniel Fox was never coming to the City Ground. That isn’t because we failed to bid enough, because Forest matched the bid put on the table by Celtic and even offered more money up front to Coventry to land him. Fox though, was set on a move to the SPL and the chance to play European football next season. We can’t be blame the lad for that I suppose.

The question now, is will we see Cohen move from midfield to defence? Billy Davies seems to think he will. Todays’ game with neighbours Notts County could have gone some way to providing an answer, but unfortunately, he didn’t make the squad.
