The club are weighing up a loan move for Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss, according to Kickoff (via the Hartlepool Mail).
The Moroccan international played a major role in helping the Midlands club gain promotion to the Premier League last season, but he has yet to make an appearance in the top-flight.
Last campaign, the holding midfielder played 44 games in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Saiss’s performances were rewarded with a place in Morocco’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup. He generally plays centre-back for his country and started the 1-0 defeat to Iran, as well as a 2-2 draw against Spain which saw his side exit at the group stage.
With the likes of Jack Colback and Ben Watson already offering able cover in central midfield roles, a move for the 28-year-old may seem unlikely, but after impressing in Wolves’ promotion season, Aitor Karanka may see him as an improvement on what we have already got.
