Forest welcome a struggling Oldham side to the City Ground on Tuesday night and hope to put the weekend set back at Luton behind them and banish any memories of the 2-1 defeat.
It was a sorry performance from the Reds, but they have the chance to make amends immediately and get the season back on track. Not that we’ve exactly fallen off the rails, but a win would keep us well in touch of the leaders and hopefully send us on another good run.
Former Red John Sheridan will be feeling the pressure, as his side dropped into the relegation zone with a 1-0 defeat at home to Northampton on Saturday. They were tipped as one of the fancied sides at the beginning of the season, but have so far failed to show any signs of that form.
They will be keen to kickstart their season and will see the City Ground as a good place to start. Last season they gave us a football lesson on both occasions we played them. We lost 2-0 at home and fans will remember the farce on New Years Day, when they hammered us 5-0. That night our lads decided to celebrate the defeat with a night on the town and even managed to get themselves in the local press with their antics.
Things are different now though and we are a much improved side on that sorry lot. If Forest can recapture the form they have shown so far this campaign, then winning ways should return PDQ.
The Latics have within their ranks two former players in the shape of keeper Mark Crossley and defender John Thompson. Both were signed on Free Transfers in the summer and both are at present injured. The Latics are in the middle of a keeper crisis and have recently had to take Lutons’ Marlon Beresford on loan.
Whereas we sit in 7th with 20 points, Oldham are 4th from bottom on 11. Both sides will want the win for differing reasons.

The Reds will hopefully be able to call upon Wes Morgan to regain his place in the heart of defence after he came off the bench at the weekend. No news as yet on the availability of Nathan Tyson, but Arron Davies may well get a place in the squad after he played in the reserves last week. Holt will play through the pain barrier again, as he awaits his long overdue hernia op. Hopefully the lads came through the weekend game with no added knocks.
Player to watch: Chris Cohen
He’s been an inspiration since his summer signing from the Glovers and is deserving of a goal. If he plays well, then Forest play well.

Signed from Italian side Verona in the summer for an undisclosed fee, he’s bagged 4 goals for the Latics so far. The 21 year old striker has also been capped by Wales 3 times.
