Forest Secure Monaco Midfielder & He Targets Promotion From The Get Go

|

With speculation linking Nottingham Forest with a deadline day move for Monaco midfielder Pele, a short time ago this morning the club confirmed he had arrived on a loan spell.

The 27-year-old has certainly moved around a bit in his career, spending time in a few European divisions, including a spell at AC Milan a number of years ago and he’s made ten appearances for Monaco so far in the 2018/19 campaign.

Getting a taste of the English second tier for the first time, he’ll be hoping for far greater game time now and clearly manager Martin O’Neill sees something in him as he continues to stamp his mark on the club following his arrival the other week.

Pele was certainly saying the right things in his interview with the Official Site.

“I have a good feeling to come here to help Nottingham Forest to go up. I am very happy to be here; it is my dream to play in England and now I have the opportunity to play here I will do my best to help the team. I know it is a very difficult league because I have a lot of friends in England, playing in the Championship, so I know it will be difficult. But I will do my best every day to become ready to play in this league. We will try to go to the Premier League. It is why I have come here as we have a good opportunity to get there. We will try to win our remaining games and it is my goal to try and reach the Premier League and all of the players will do our maximum to try and do that.”

It was rumoured to potentially be a business deadline day at the City Ground but it seems the club are wasting no time in strengthening the group now for what everyone hopes will be a continued push on the Play-Off spots in the remainder of the campaign.
