According to reports in the Daily Record, Forest boss Billy Davies was in Scotland on Sunday casting his eye over Hibs defender and club captain Rob Jones.

The 6ft, 6inch hulk has been linked with the Reds’ all season, but so far no deal has been reached. Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen, seems resigned to losing his £1M rated star saying. ‘We want to keep the players who have been doing a great job for us he has performed consistently well every week for me. But you can never say anything is guaranteed in football. One day somebody will come in with an offer and the chairman and the board will find it difficult to turn that down.’

Jones was signed from Grimsby in 2006 on a free and this season has made 32 appearances for the Edinburgh club. The 29 year old has netted 4 times and been booked 7 times. He also has European experience in the Euefa Intertoto Cup with the Easter Road club and could be just the player to shore up our leaky defence next season.
