As we approach the start of the new Championship season, it seems that we’re still intent on concluding a few deals before the campaign begins. One such deal could see Lee Tomlin return to the club.

Our interest in signing Lee Tomlin from Cardiff City has been well-publicised for the majority of the summer transfer window, and it seems that our efforts have been boosted following Neil Warnock’s revelation that he expects the 29-year-old to depart the Cardiff City Stadium, as Bristol Live reports.

The versatile attacker retrieved his best form with us last season, and it seems that he’s destined to return to the City Ground.

Verdict:

While we’ve made several purposeful steps in enhancing our attacking options and increasing the team’s creativity, it’s always useful to have a player of Tomlin’s experience and calibre at your disposal. He has tremendous insight and understanding of the Championship, and his expertise and knowledge could prove to be valuable assets.
