As we approach the start of the new Championship season, it seems that we’re still intent on concluding a few deals before the campaign begins. One such deal could see Lee Tomlin return to the club.

Our interest in signing Lee Tomlin from Cardiff City has been well-publicised for the majority of the summer transfer window, and it seems that our efforts have been boosted following Neil Warnock’s revelation that he expects the 29-year-old to depart the Cardiff City Stadium, as Bristol Live reports.

The versatile attacker retrieved his best form with us last season, and it seems that he’s destined to return to the City Ground.

While we’ve made several purposeful steps in enhancing our attacking options and increasing the team’s creativity, it’s always useful to have a player of Tomlin’s experience and calibre at your disposal. He has tremendous insight and understanding of the Championship, and his expertise and knowledge could prove to be valuable assets.

What are your thoughts? Let us know!

  • when you see lee tomlin pull on a forest shirt and play for the super reds. he plays like a young Andy read. real quality player. would be a fantastic signing.

  • Lee Tomlin is not consistent enough for forest, 1 good game in 3 is a poor return for a player who will be a bit part player in the new forest set up. This is not a boost for forest.

  • some of our fans just don’t understand how youth and experience work? ben Brereton will play better with the new players around him. tomlin did more for us last season than most. clough would have sighned him. you reds.
