A senior, much more 1st team like, Forest took centre stage on Wednesday evening with a pre-season friendly against PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch giants proved to strong for Forest though and ran out winners.

Gerginio Wijnaldum (9) opened the scoring for PSV early on with a stunning strike although Forest were level in no time. Paul Anderson (10) got on the end of a cross, following a skilful display, from the returning Andy Reid to head home the equalizer.

Level at the break, this remained the case for the next hour or so until a mistake let in Dries Mertens (69) to put PSV ahead again. Soon after Wijnaldum (73) scored again to complete the scoring.

Forest had chances, before and after the other PSV goals, but it was the Dutch giants that ran out 3-1 winners to inflict Forest’s first pre-season defeat.
