New Head Coach Philippe Montanier has made it clear he’s not in any immediate rush to bring in players and will only do so if they’re the ones he feels will really add something to the Nottingham Forest squad, being an improvement on what he has.

Apostolos Vellios, who was being linked ahead of the Frenchman’s arrival, and Thomas Lam have been signed but if the Nottingham Post is correct Stephen Henderson is close to becoming his third arrival.

Forest have reportedly made an approach to Charlton for Henderson, a Republic of Ireland international ‘keeper who has previously played for the likes of Portsmouth and West Ham, with a deal close.

Henderson has previous at Championship level, and is proven, having of course been a member of the Charlton squad that were relegated last season with him also performing for Pompey and Bournemouth at this level too but he struggled to make an impact with West Ham.

Should this deal go through the 28-year-old would add competition to current no.1, and last seasons Player of the Year, Dorus de Vries and this would probably also signal a loan spell away from the City Ground for Dimitar Evtimov, who will only see his own development benefited by regular first-team football elsewhere.
