Nottingham Forest may have lost 5-0 to Arsenal in the third round of the EFL Cup, but there were a few players who came away with some credit for their respective performances. Yuri Ribiero was one of them and received a lot of praise from supporters on social media.
We're also finally seeing what our strongest 11 is, Figs, Robinson defo not in it. Ribiero has been a class above, Worrall, Dawson are forming a seriously solid partnership, Watson showing he's still got it. Muric, just too quiet, low on confidence, not commanding enough! #nffc

I felt 5 0 flattered Arsenal but we had to go for the game, 2 goals Muric should of saved, Ribeiro showed alot of Quality & Cash had a good game to try and deal with Tierney & Nelson, young Brennan is a kid growing in confidence every game (1/2) #nffc

It’s funny isn’t it…. love Joe Lolley, baller at Champ level but he, along with Adomah and Figs look so rushed when they have the ball. Ribiero, Chema, Silva and Carvalho look at home. Finding pockets of space, great use of the ball….Interesting #NFFC

Score line is irrelevant to me tonight. Figs & Chema have been decent. And Riberio is looking a right player. Bigger fish to fry and on to Stoke we go! #nffc

One positive was Ribeiro, class tonight. Chema was solid but absolute 20 minute meltdown. All about Friday anyway… #NFFC

Missed a bit of beef from Samba in the middle to protect the ball. Only natural that Chema and Figs would have some rust. Thought Ribeiro looked classy and we had the odd bright moment in the first 15 mins of each. Big gulf in class told #NFFC

The 22-year-old started on the wing for Forest and was one of the Reds’ best players on the night. Against Arsenal, he played for 77 minutes, made 37 touches, completed 73.9% of his 23 passes, whipped in a cross, made one successful dribble, made five tackles and blocked one shot.
Ribiero has made five appearances in all competitions since joining Forest from Benfica. He made his debut in the EFL Cup first round against Fleetwood Town on August 13 and played in the second round against Derby County two weeks later.
In September, Sabri Lamouchi rewarded his efforts in training by starting him in the Championship against Swansea City (September 14) and Barnsley a week later. And his latest performance went well on a personal note, even if Forest were thrashed on the night. Ribiero looks a good acquisition from the Reds.
