BOURNEMOUTH manager Kevin Bond admitted Nathan Tyson’s injury was a major boost in the surprise victory over Nottingham Forest.

Tyson was substituted after 16 minutes because of blurred vision. Bond revealed the Reds striker had been one his main concerns.

He said: ‘Forest would have been disappointed that Tyson went off as he posed a threat in behind. It didn’t harm us at all that he went off so early.’

Bond praised his young side, which featured four teenagers.

‘We knew it would be a difficult game but I thought we played really well throughout,’ he said.

‘Apart from a few dickie moments late on when they put the ball into the box, we handled them. We thoroughly deserved it on the night. I was fearful we might crumble.’
