Nottingham Forest were dealt the doubly bad news today, that Lewis McGugan and Julian Bennett will both be missing for the upcoming game with Burnley.

It was hoped that Bennett would recover in time and be fit for the home game with the Clarets on Saturday, but a scan has revealed a slight tear to his calf muscle.

The news got worse when the official site said that midfielder Lewis McGugan had a setback in his return to match fitness. He’s already been out for a month and with the club today revealing he has a ruptured thigh muscle, he could be out for a further six weeks.

Will these latest injury troubles force Calderwood to dip into the loan market? I certainly hope so. Whispers around the City Ground suggest we are in the market for a loan defender from the Prem. Will it happen in time for the weekend game? Watch this space.
