Aston Villa Striker Joins On Loan

With late links suggesting Nottingham Forest were in for Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack, that was another late deal announced on transfer deadline day.

The 30 year old striker has only scored three times for Villa so far this season and he’s fallen out with manager Steve Bruce, but he now comes into us on a deal – without a buy option – until the end of the current campaign.

McCormack’s exploits and the transfer fees he’s commanded over the years speak for themselves and if he can click for us in a way that clearly he hasn’t done at Villa Park, we undoubtedly have a prolific goalscorer on our hands.

Much like the Clough deal, I’d imagine tomorrow will feature interviews with both players but it appears we not only had to increase the loan fee for McCormack but also agree to pay the lions share of his wages – but as long as those means goals given our position in the Championship table it should be worth it.
