With Nottingham Forest’s interest in Bolton Wanderers youngster Zach Clough known about on deadline day, we finally secured the player for an undisclosed fee.

With two bids rejected earlier yesterday, it was being reported without confirmation that a third bid of around £2.5million had been enough to tempt them into doing a deal for the 21 year old and although confirmation of the deal came late on – BBC confirmed the switch at 23.58pm – the necessary paperwork went through via the 11pm deadline and he’s now ours.

Clough came through the youth ranks at Bolton Wanderers, scoring 21 times in 39 League appearances for them – including nine times this season in League One.

The youngster is pretty versatile as he can play on the wings as well as through the middle.

He comes in for a reported £2.5million and Forest have confirmed he has signed a four and a half year deal.

At time of writing there’s no official confirmation but Fawaz Al Hasawi according to the BBC has confirmed that we also got a deal over the line for Chesterfield winger Gboly Ariyibi.
