Arron Davies – Remember Me?

Forest fans remember only too well the damage that Arron Davies can inflict on a football pitch, but have yet to see him do it whilst wearing the Garibaldi. Since the dual arrival of Davies and Cohen from Yeovil in the summer, Davies has been limited to a couple of pre season friendlies for the Reds and has yet to make his full debut three months on.

Davies suffered a stress fracture to his ankle in the pre season game at Motherwell and has since been out of action. Talking to the Official Site he said. ‘I enjoyed preseason, was getting to know the lads well and played a few preseason games before getting the injury and I suppose you could say I haven’t been seen since.’ Davies went on to say that it was an innocuous challenge in the first half of the game at Motherwell that caused the injury and that the physios tell him it’s getting better all the time.

According to a statement made by the club last week, Davies was still a couple of weeks away from full training. The player said. ‘I’ve been back out training on the grass, which is encouraging. I have to be careful – sometimes it’s a case of having one day on the training ground and the next in the gym, because my ankle can get quite painful.’

One thing is for sure, when he does eventually turn out for the Reds (hopefully before his contract expires), he will add a cutting edge to the Forest attack whether it’s from midfield or up front. The big question when he’s fit though, is will he get in the side and who will make way? I for one can’t wait for him to give opposition teams a taste of the misery he put us through back in May.
