With the news that Roy Keane is set to depart his post at the City Ground, fans wondering who is going to take his place.

Whilst not exactly an ‘official’ endorsement, it seems the majority of fans are backing former Forest player Chris Cohen to be the man for the job. It’s easy to see why they’d want him to take Keane’s place.

His performances during his time at The City Ground won him two player of the season awards back in 2009 and 2013, earning him legendary status along the way before having to retire at the end of the 2017-18 season as the result of injuries. He’s been working with the club too on the coaching side of things, having been appointed joint manager of the clubs U23 squad and Academy Technical Coach last summer.

Having been at the club for so long, there’s probably nobody else that knows the club better than him. And seeing as he only retired recently he should have an excellent relationship with the majority of the current squad as well as the U23 players who could make an impact next season.

That’s why these Forest fans took to Twitter to throw their support behind Cohen to be Martin O’Neill’s right-hand man going forward.
