Your Runners And Riders This Weekend

The Swans have yet another Friday night game and can leapfrog the Reds and even go top over Carlisle if they get a win over Huddersfield at the Liberty tonight. They are without key players Warren Feeney and Owain Tudur-Jones, who are both away on international duty, so a win is not a foregone conclusion by any means. The Terriers are in 14th place and their form has been indifferent, but they only lie 4 points from a playoff place so they have incentive to do well. KO is 7.45pm.


Third placed Orient have a tricky game at home to 6th placed Brighton and could also go top with a win. The O’s have done well to stay in touch, as at one stage it looked as though Martin Ling and his boys were going to bottle it. But it looks like they have got over their blip and got back to winning ways.

If the O’s and the Swans fail to take advantage this weekend, then Southend surely will. They lie in 5th spot on 25 points and have what looks like a nailed on win against basement boys Cheltenham. They are unlikely to go top because of goal difference, but could share the pole position.

Lucky Leeds United have to shake off the disappointment of defeat at the hands of League 2 side Bury in midweek, in the JPT. They face Swindon at home and will be without Jermaine Beckford who is ill. Leon Constantine is expected to fill his boots. Could be a tricky one for those lucky Yorkshire lads.

Struggling and dropping like a stone Yeovil entertain a resurgent Gillingham, who have climbed out of the bottom three and now lie in 19th.

In other games, Oldham face Port Vale, Walsall play soon to be nicked Luton, Donny play Tranny, Crewe play the Cobblers. Then it’s Brizzle v Millwall and Hartlepool v Bournemouth.
