Sam Byram will return to West Ham United after his loan spell came to an end at Nottingham Forest, but there may be a chance he re-joins the Reds this summer.
The 25-year-old doesn’t appear to have a future at the London Stadium as Pablo Zabaleta and Ryan Fredericks are ahead of him in the pecking order. Nathaniel Clyne has been linked with a move to United too.
Byram has admitted he’d be open to joining Forest next season, although he didn’t say if it would be permanent or on loan. Nevertheless, supporters are very keen to bring him back to the East Midlands for 2019/20.
Byram would cost at least £5 mil but would love him to join

MON checklist for next year: ✅new LM/LWB
✅colback
✅byram
✅work out why we struggle against poorer teams
✅work out why we have terrible away form
✅keep lolley
✅decide whos going to be the regular alongside colback in midfield #nffc— will james (@willjones651) May 6, 2019
Hopefully not the last we see of Sam Byram in a Forest shirt today. Very unfortunate with injuries this season, would like to think things would've been different had he been fit. Clearly important to the system MON seems to be favouring. Won't be cheap. Anyway, COYR. 🔴⚪️#nffc

So sign Colback & Byram, get some support for Grabban and maybe an ugly DM and reckon got a decent team for next term #nffc

Byram has made eight appearances in all competitions this season, 63% of which have come in the last few weeks. He spent the majority of the campaign sidelined with a knee injury but has impressed since making his return.
His departure will leave the Reds short at right-back, as Saidy Janko will be returning to his parent club (FC Porto) too. It will leave Forest with Tendayi Darikwa as the only option at fullback unless a new recruit is brought in.
Fans have made it clear that they want Byram, but time will tell if Forest can bring him back.
