Some fans haven’t been too impressed with Lewis Grabban’s start to life at the City Ground. The £6m signing has only made two competitive starts for the club after starting the first game of the season on the bench.

The 30-year-old hasn’t scored so far, and there have been a few supporters on social media who are yet to be convinced by the player.

Reacting to some of criticism, a number of fans on Twitter came to our no.7’s defence:

Some think he’s just lacking match sharpness:

Adapting to a new club with new players isn’t easy but he has proven to be a good goalscorer at this level. In a struggling Sunderland team, he scored 12 goals in just 20 starts before scoring eight on loan at Villa in the second half of the campaign.

Of course, everyone is hoping he gets off the mark sooner rather than later. The first goal for a new club can be the hardest one to get, so hopefully, it’s not too long before he opens his account.
