‘Work of art’, ‘moved me to tears’: These Forest fans get misty eyed over unveiling

|

Who doesn’t love a trip down memory lane?

I suppose when there’s no club football to talk about during the international break, you may as well play on the nostalgia factor. That’s exactly what has gone in this week in Nottingham city centre, with the unveiling of something rather special.

Plenty of Forest fans rushed to The Playwright in Shakespeare Street to witness the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, showing the birthplace of Nottingham Forest Football Club, although this one was coloured red rather than the traditional blue.

Fan group Forza Garibaldi has been fund-raising and organising for a commemorative plaque to be placed on the side of the pub, and this week they finally got their wish. And when Alex Bausor released this short video commemorating the day, then it’s fair to say that a lot of Forest fans started to shed a little tear with the emotion of it all.

Hopefully this becomes a bit of a trend amongst all football clubs, it’s important that we remember our history and where respective clubs came from, so let’s hope that Forest are the trendsetters on this occasion.
