If Nottingham Forest attacker Joe Lolley hadn’t been on the radar of opposition clubs and those in the Premier League prior to the Aston Villa clash, he certainly was following it and the list of clubs he’s now being linked with a January move to has grown to include Watford, Cardiff City, West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United and Fulham.
Given the 26-year-old’s form so far this year that has seen him (prior to this weekend’s clash with Ipswich Town) score seven times in 23 appearances across all competitions – including a season-best goal return in League competition) he definitely deserves the attention and the plaudits he’s getting but Forest would be mad to sell him given where we sit in the second tier table and the promotion hopes we harbour.
Joe lolley should not be sold for whatever money as without him we are poor #nffc

No way we be selling Lolley, not in the position we are in. #NFFC

That time of year again, same every year coming upto transfer window. I wouldn’t sell for 20m a player like lolley is difference between promotion or staying put.

So we sell him for £10/15 mill for example to add players to the squad that we don’t necessarily need and leave a gaping hole where Lolley plays? It could affect the way Grabban and Carvalho are playing too. We have a better chance of promotion with Lolley than without.

You can't replace him, plus it would just demoralise the squad and fans, it's not gonna happen, not a chance

Villa want £40M for Grealish. Lolley is the better player right now. To Forest potential future I would say around 40 – 45M. In reality worth less obviously. But Forest don't need to sell.

What value would you genuinely put on the best player in The Championship outside of the Premier League ?? Britt went for £15 million. Lolley must have a minimum price tag of £20 million ….. MINIMUM !! #nffc

There’s bound to be interest in Lolley given his form. But I’d think there’s more chance of me pulling Kelly Brook than NFFC selling him for £5 million. We got more for Brereton who’s nowhere near as good!

His importance to the side certainly wasn’t lost on those fans above who reacted to the latest speculation as carried by the Daily Mail at the end of last week.
£5million as a suggestion is pathetic to say the least given what James Maddison moved for, and Jack Grealish is said to be apparently worth.
I’ll worry when the rumours suggest upwards of £20million as that would at least be the right ballpark to debate the question.
