Wilson’s Not On Strike

Billy Davies has moved to deny ‘paper reports’ that Kelvin Wilson has gone on strike following a refusal of an offer from Celtic.

It was ‘claimed’ that Wilson had told the club he would not play in pre-season after a £1m offer was rejected, although Davies, talking to the official website, insists that a shin injury is keeping the defender out: ‘I can confirm that Kelvin has got a shin injury which has forced him to miss the last couple of games.

‘It would be difficult for him to go on strike when he’s carrying an injury because he can’t play anyway.’

A club spokesman backed up the Forest managers’ comments: ‘we can confirm that Kelvin has an injury.

‘He took part during the pre-season trip to Portugal but since he returned he has picked up a shin injury and that is the reason he has not played.

‘We have no idea where these stories about going on strike have come from.’

A line on the ‘reported’ offer from Celtic was not offered, although Davies has since confirmed, to the BBC, that there is interest in the 24-year-old.
