Forest have agreed a fee of £300,000 for Preston defender Kelvin Wilson. It was rumoured two weeks ago that he was a target for the Reds.

Wilson is a Nottingham lad who made 78 appearances for Notts County, after graduating from their academy. The highly rated 21 year old made 16 appearances for Preston in the Championship. Forest had previously offered £200,000 for the player, but have since revised this to meet Prestons’ asking price.

All that remains now is for Wilson to sort out his personal terms and hope that Doncaster, who are also reportedly interested don’t get in there first. If all goes well, he could be a Forest player within the next 24 hours.
