Caretaker gaffer Paul Williams and Danny Fox have both given their thoughts following the draw with Rotherham at the weekend.

Making the trip to the New York Stadium for the game, Nottingham Forest kept a clean sheet in a scoreless draw, and for Williams he felt the side had built on the positives from the Brighton match in his eyes.

Speaking to the Official Forest Site in his post game press conference, Williams spoke his delight at seeing progression within the team given what he’s asking them to do.

He also felt had we taken all three points on the day, it would’ve been justified given the overall performance the players put in.

‘We created lots of chances today and could have had a penalty, but we`ve got a draw at the end of the day so we`ve got to be mildly happy. We`re getting a bit more of an understanding of how we want to play, which is good, and to back it up from the last game is really pleasing. Again we showed resilience at the back – I know we rode our luck at times with Rotherham hitting the crossbar, but it`s nice to see a bit of luck going our way. The defenders did their job and the attackers on another day could have got two or three goals. Again, all credit goes to the players.’

Many would point to the hosts having eight more efforts in total, but only two less than us on target.

Williams was also quick to pay tribute to the travelling 2000 for the game.

‘I want to mention the fans today – their turnout and the support they gave us was absolutely amazing. It helped us on to get a draw today and I want to say thank you to them.’

With injuries to Jack Hobbs, Michael Mancienne and Kelvin Wilson, Danny Fox was interviewed after the game and he admitted he loved the playing time that was coming his way at the minute.

‘I`ve had to be patient and I`m just enjoying it. I`m not really feeling any pressure because it doesn`t help – I`m just enjoying every minute of it and I think it`s reflecting in the way I`m playing at the minute. The fitness staff have kept me fit all through the season so I have to thank them.’

Having played his part in the clean sheet against Rotherham, he also believed we probably should’ve taken more than a point from the game.

‘We were disappointed not to get all three points on Monday night and it`s the same again here – we had great chances and we need to be a bit more ruthless in front of goal. But we were resolute in defence – the whole team defended from the front and I think we thoroughly deserved a point, if not three.’
