Joe Worrall recently announced his departure from Rangers after a season-long loan spell and thanked the club, fans, staff and players for how they’ve treatment him over the last nine months. The 22-year-old will now return to Nottingham Forest and supporters are desperate to see him back in the first-team next season.

Elliot_m25: “Come home to the mighty city ground where you belong”

Nffcdzn: “Can’t wait to have you back in red mate????????”

Hayleynffcsowerby: “Will be good to see you back at The City Ground ????⚽️”

Forestawayfans: “Cant wait to see you back ????????????”

Thestewieturner: “@_worrall glad your coming home big man! To have watched you play in the garibaldi red and the blue an white of Scotland’s most successful team it’s just awesome pal”

Platty_13: “Welcome back big season ahead ????”

Reeves_g: “@_worrall congratulations on a great season with @rangersfc hope you now get the chance back here at @officialnffc that you deserve #mistrollinginfromthetrent”

Worrall made 32 appearances in all competitions at Rangers, scoring one goal. He helped the Gers finish second in the Scottish Premiership, nine points adrift of Celtic, and played his part in Steven Gerrard’s side having the second-best defensive record in the division (27).

In his 21 Premiership appearances, Worrall conceded only 11 goals and kept an impressive nine clean sheets. He’ll give Martin O’Neill a selection headache next season, as Forest have a lot of centre-backs in the first-team squad – Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo, Alexander Milosevic, Yohan Benalouane and Michael Hefele.

Worrall has made 56 appearances for Forest since rising through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2015, the last of which came against Millwall on March 30, 2018. He’ll be pushing for a starting place in 2019/20 and appears to have made an impression in Scotland considering the positive comments on social media.
