Here’s an interesting one for you.

One of Nottingham Forest’s men out on loan has been getting a lot of praise from his current club, and it’s got me thinking a little bit. Having moved to Bolton Wanderers on deadline day, it seems as if Liam Bridcutt has been settling it rather well in his new surroundings. And given the amount of chaos that is never too far away from the University Of Bolton Stadium, that is saying something.

In fact, he has slotted in so well, that Bolton boss Keith Hill has given him extra responsibilities by giving him the captain’s armband. Speaking to The Bolton News, he said:

“It isn’t a token gesture and it’s no disrespect to anyone who has previously been captain. I need all my players to relay messages on the pitch about how we do things in and out of possession. Liam is loud, he’s vocal, he has an opinion and he has respect for the way we do things. I think the future is bright for him because there is a lot more to come.”

Now my question here is, is there a possibility for Bridcutt to find himself as a captain of Nottingham Forest in the near future?

There has been some talk from some high profile former Reds that a player like Joe Worrall could be in line to be a Forest captain in the future once Michael Dawson hangs up his boots. However, with Worrall still being only 22, is it out of the realms of possibility that Sabri Lamouchi might think he is too young to take the armband and give it to someone older and more experienced?

In which case would it not make sense to maybe look at Bridcutt as the next leader in the Forest ranks?

What about you? Do you think that Liam Bridcutt can use this experience to make a run at being captain for Forest in the future? Or do you think that his path is already blocked by the likes of Worrall?
