“When these two click”: Some Forest fans tantalised about prospect of these “magicians”

After his display on Saturday, I think it’s fair to say this guy will be the flavour of the week.
And given it’s the international break, there’s no chance for anyone to upstage him for that title for a while.
Paul Taylor wrote a piece for The Athletic about how well Tiago Silva has adapted to life at the City Ground, and how the game against Derby County might have been his best performance in a reds shirt to date.
Afterwards, he posed the question to Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter about whether or not he was going to ‘steal’ Joao Carvalho’s place as the favourite Portuguese player amongst the City Ground faithful and it garnered a bit of a mixed response. There were some who found themselves getting rather excited about the prospect of the two of them playing together at some point in the future.
Both brilliant and seemingly both unplayable on their day. When these two click together I fear someone’s midfield is going to be chasing shadows.

We’re lucky to have both. Silva has gradually settled into this league since his move in the summer and looks great. Carvalho must also be afforded time to settle back after the injury. Plus he must be learning off an older head in Silva. Long season & both will prove their worth

I think it’s great we have two little magicians. Silva started slow IMO but really beginning to shine. Means Carvalho can come back slowly and improves options. Carvalho helped hold the ball late on v Derby showing glimpses of his form

Whilst there were others who very much fell on Silva’s side of the argument, using it as a chance to disparage Carvalho, with one even taking the opportunity to say that they needed to sell him, although that argument was quickly shut down.
Showed more in that game v derby than carvalho has since hes been there.never understood the fans adulation of carvalho

Carvalho has all the talent but inconsistent and can appear a bit lazy. Poor mans Ozil for me. Hopefully be proven wrong but overrated unfortunately.

Is Tiago Silva a better all-round player than Joao Carvalho?
After his numbers last year, I think that’s a little bit harsh to suggest selling him.
