‘What a player’ – some fans praise Nottingham Forest’s man-of-the-match after WBA draw
Ryan Yates was named man-of-the-match after Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion, scoring one goal. The 21-year-old has enjoyed a renaissance after returning to the first-team and didn’t let Martin O’Neill down with another fantastic performance.

After spending the majority of the season out of the matchday squad, Yates has been brought back to the fray at the turn of the year. He was a substitute in four Championship outings before Forest’s 2-1 win over Brentford and has now picked up 180 minutes in his last two games.
Up until mid-January, Yates had only racked up six minutes of playing time in the league, but now he’s a regular under O’Neill. He spent last season on loan at Notts County and Scunthorpe United and was limited to the reserves months ago.
But he’s worked hard to get himself back into contention and could see out the campaign as a first-teamer. Supporters are delighted with his form and should be pleased with O’Neill helping to turn his career around. Yates looked down and out for a period, but now he’s one of the first names on the teamsheet.
