A short time ago Nottingham Forest announced the capture of former Watford midfielder Ben Watson.

The 32 year old’s career has seen him represent the likes of Crystal Palace, Wigan Athletic and Watford and having mutually agreed to terminate his contract at Vicarage Road late on during deadline day, the expectation was that it was to support a quick arrival at a club who had expressed an interest but a deal hadn’t progressed enough to go through in time.

Speculation throughout the day grew that his destination would be Forest and that is now confirmed.

He signs a two and a half year deal at the club and having made his debut for Palace back in April 2003 as a 17 year old, he now has over 300 games to his name, including eleven for Watford so far this season.

No doubt tomorrow they’ll be words from the man himself and Aitor Karanka on the deal.
