According to the Daily Mail, Watford have a ‘January bid under consideration’ for Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley. The 26-year-old is rated at £5m and has been in fine form this season, scoring and creating 12 goals in 15 Championship starts. Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion are also keen on his signature.

Forest would bag themselves £4m in profit if he were to be sold for the reported asking price, although Aitor Karanka will be desperate to keep Lolley at the City Ground. He recently scored one and made four assists in Wednesday’s 5-5 draw with Aston Villa and is regarded as the best player in the second tier among his supporters.

The Reds are currently sixth in the Championship with 31 points from 19 games, coming off the back of three wins and three draws from their last half a dozen outings. No side in the division have lost fewer games than Forest (2) while only Middlesbrough (3) and Leeds United (5) have conceded less goals at home than Karanka’s men (8).

Forest are enjoying a good start to the season and can’t afford to let their best players leave in January, as it gives them a difficult task to sign replacements and could hamper their playoff push.
