Waiting for Miller

Ishmael Miller was supposed to be holding talks with Forest on Monday, although Steve McClaren, as he told The Evening Post, is still waiting.

Forest have negotiated with West Brom, and apparently agreed a fee, although the club have yet to make contract with the player or agent – something McClaren is looking for in the coming days: ‘we have negotiated with West Brom but we have not met the player or the agent.

‘It is like a lot of players we have enquired about. It has got to the stage where we need to speak to the player and his agent. We will be looking to do that now over the next few days.’

Should too much time go by without any movement on this front then the Forest manager has said they will move on…

He says that he has other ‘irons in the fire’ if needed: ‘we have other irons in the fire as well. We will see what happens. You get a better idea of what you need once the season starts. League games are always the real test.

‘We know now what we want and we have to pursue it.’
