Midfielder David Vaughan has said Nottingham Forest have to get back to winning ways this weekend as we face Bolton Wanderers.

On the back of the four two defeat to Ipswich Town last weekend, Vaughan said the side owed the fans a victory again to reward them for their support and positivity this campaign and he knows returning to the City Ground where we had won four on the spin prior to defeat to Cardiff City is the perfect place to do that.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post this week, Vaughan explained.

‘At home, generally, we have been good and we hope that we can get three points against Bolton. We need to stop the negative momentum from continuing. It would be a good time to get a win. The fans have been supportive this season; they have stayed right behind us. We appreciate that and if we can get a win next Saturday it will be one for them. But more than that, we want to get back into a positive run as we head into the Christmas period.’

With Mark Warburton wanted a more attacking and entertaining style of play, confidence obviously figures into that as does self belief and a positive mindset and Vaughan said nobody had let the recent defeats get to them too much – they were just determined to bounce back.

‘The confidence is vital for us and the way we want to play and it is still there, for sure. With the ball, we still play well. But because we play so openly, we can leave ourselves exposed at times. It is something we need to address. Hopefully we can work on that this week and we will see that in the next game. Teams know how we play and they set up to counter-attack us. That is something we are finding hard to stop at times, it seems, when you look at the individual mistakes. We lose the ball in bad areas and that costs us. We need to be more careful; we need to look at how we can counteract the way that teams are playing against us.’
