Nottingham Forest are set to add a big name in the coming days, both in size and in stature.
A report from The Manchester Evening News are suggesting that 6’6 goalkeeper Arijanet Muric is one step closer to completing his loan move to the City Ground, having fought off pressure from Preston North End.
Having been impressive during Manchester City’s run to last season’s Carabao Cup final, including saving two penalties in their defeat of Leicester in the quarter-final and keeping four clean sheets in the process, as well as his brief performances in the first team, he comes with very high praise from Pep Guardiola, who has been quoted as saying “Aro is so big and the pressure for the opponents is not easy because his reactions are so quick.”
So when this sort of praise comes from a man as highly esteemed as Mr Guardiola, it’s no wonder that lots of Nottingham Forest fans were over the moon that such an exciting prospect is potentially days away from pulling on the famous Garibaldi.
Muric is a colossal upgrade on Pants, will be very beneficial to our defenders who lack pace re Dawson #nffc

If there was any chance whatsoever of it becoming permanent I’d be delighted.
But just leaves us in a funny position next summer/Jan potentially.
Might be possible if we go up you never no! #nffc— DNOnMAZ9 (@DNOnMAZ9) June 27, 2019
A lot won’t also admit that O’Neill’s signings are actually looking better than Karanka’s as a whole.

Already giving more confidence that Pants. Pants would be an excellent back up

Modern keeper. Brave. Sweeper. Commands his area which is the main one for me + good shot stopper & has good distribution. He is probably is one of the best young keepers in the world. But there is high risk so I hope fans do also understand ????????

However, there were some fans who aren’t too keen on making this move, mainly because they feel it would be harsh on the current number one Costel Pantilimon. Whilst one fan didn’t see the point in making it a loan deal because Forest would just end up going in circles and having to do the same next summer.
Yes I agree with this. Unsettling for no reason or potential long term good. Whoever gets the shirt we will just have a very expensive sub this season and a problem to solve next quite probably. ????

I don’t mind us having Muric for next season (though agree it’s harsh on Pants). But my worry would be if Pants leaves after not playing much then end of next season we have no senior goalies.

Feel bad for Pantillimon, done nothing wrong and he’s getting dropped for someone who’s only coming on loan. Don’t make sense signing a gk on loan, either sign em permanently or strengthen other areas
