It might have slipped under your radar, what with all the transfer comings and goings, preseason games and managerial merry go rounds, but there was a tournament on this summer.
The African Cup Of Nations finished over the weekend with the tournament being won by Algeria, featuring none other than Forest midfielder Adlène Guedioura. They emerged victorious against Senegal on Friday night but that wasn’t the only bit of good news for the 33-year-old. He was also named in the Team Of The Tournament alongside Premier League stars Sadio Mane & Riyad Mahrez.
Guedioura has been subject to recent speculation linking him with a move away from the City Ground. According to reports in the Kuwaiti press (via Le Buteur), Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to sell the midfielder to Kuwaiti side Kuwait SC.
And Nottingham Forest fans weren’t too sure if his performances this summer meant that he now stood a better chance of cracking the first team, or if the award added value to his transfer fee, thus making him a prime candidate to be next on the ever growing list of players on their way out of the club.
On the Africa 11 but still not good enough for #NFFC according to some fans ????
